Thymosin α-1 is an approved medicine in more than 30 countries, sold as Zadaxin or thymalfasin, but it is not approved in the US. Why is thymosin alpha-1 approved abroad but not in the US?

Thymosin alpha-1 cleared regulators across much of Asia, Latin America and parts of Europe under the name thymalfasin, mainly for hepatitis B and C. It never cleared the FDA. That gap is a piece of regulatory history rather than a verdict on the molecule.
